Looking for a baby sitter

I have been quite nervous about finding a good baby sitter. Here in India it is very difficult to get a properly trained nanny. You end up with girls from agencies who do not know an A of baby sitting. I will be going back to my home along with my little one soon and I am yet to find a good nanny for her. Since I work from home it is easier to manage the baby sitter too. But still finding the right person will make my work that much lesser.

A good friend of mine promised to find me a good nanny but I will have to ultimately judge if she will be able to take care well. A nany must be vigilent, have peace of mind, alert and ability to teach the baby new things and play with her. That is what I will be scrutinising during her stay at my place. Lets hope things go well.

Old stooges want to stay put

Have you ever wondered about the unemployment problem worldwide? If not you can consider it now. I have walked into so many government offices, state and central and find it is crowded with old people at the desks. Since government jobs are safe and lucrative many oldies want to stick to them till they practically die of old age. Look at our politicians half of them can't walk properly, half of them are suffering with heart ailments or other health problems and all of them simply can't or don't want to work for the people but themselves. If this is what India's future is then God help us.

I say reduce the retirment age for everyone even politicians to 50, why should not there be a maximum age in politics? This will give chance to young, dynamic and educated lot. May be coming up with an oldies forum where they can still be active in guiding the younger generation on politics, be guest lecturers at colleges and simply help new politicians to campaign will keep them busy. It is sad to see many politicians are in this field to just earn money and stay put, don't allow anybody else to come and are responsible for corruption and beauracracy.

But change is happening but on a very slow pace. We now see young politicians who seem to be determined to work for the people (like our constitution says) and think the modern way. This has encouraged and will encourage more youth to come forward and do some quality work without bothering about making money for themselves. I just hope the election results all over the country would see some new and young faces especially for the PM's post.

Recession at home...

Recession is a word which is now more widely used by businessmen as well as by homemakers. I use it almost for everything now. Our house helpers who asked for a raise were told that due to recession we cannot give them a raise. My employees at work were told the same to which they gave me a very dirty look. With me becoming busy with the baby, my better half says that due to recession of time I do not give him mch attention.

Well I think being a new mom takes time to adjust to the new life. Babies want attention, if they do not get enough of it they get disoriented and their mental growth kind of gets stagnant. Give as much time as yu can, play with them and that is what keeps them active physically and mentally. Do not let recession come inbetween u and your family. They need you all the time so enjoy urself with them.

Moms need to read this

Ever since I have become a full-time mom all I can think of is my baby, btw she turned 5 months old on 27th April. Everyday just flies away with an eye blink. That is when I decided I must put aside sometime of my own where I can express myself. Advice for all moms or moms to be:

- Do not get carried away with just taking care of your baby, you had a life of your own before the baby so try and squeeze some time for yourself after the baby too.
- Expressing oneself is important to stay sane after a day long baby crying and whining.
- Try and get away in the open too once a day, for a walk or just to pick up some groceries, take your baby along in a pram if you don't have a caregiver.
- Have a hearty meal too, u need it the most cause ur super busy taking care of your little devil.
- Try to also have a good talk with ur husband on how he could help you around the house.
- Try also to have a cozy time with ur hubby whenever you can, how can u forget ur first baby!!!!!!
- At the end of the day have ur hubby prepare you a mug of hot chocolate so that you can relax and have a good night sleep.

I think I may just doze off this chair any moment so I will take leave. Will write more tomorrow, till then good night everybody......
